Tasks in Pissouri – Discovering a Village Through Play

On Saturday, April 12, 2025, the first day of the SUCOMINNO II project, participants kicked off their intercultural adventure with a vibrant and interactive activity called "Tasks in Pissouri." Set in one of Cyprus's most awarded and picturesque villages, recently named a Best Tourism Village 2024 by the UNWTO, this challenge-based exploration invited teams to dive into the heart of Pissouri's culture, history, and daily life. From searching for monuments and traditional taverns to meeting locals and capturing creative team photos, participants were given 18 unique photo tasks that turned the entire village into an open-air adventure game. The experience blended fun, teamwork, learning, and local engagement—all while exploring the hidden stories of a community known for its sustainable tourism and authentic charm. The day ended with a traditional Cypriot welcome dinner at the iconic Vrakas Tavern, where all teams reunited to share laughs, stories, and their favorite moments from the day.

In the square of the village there is a graphical fountain with some art on it. What is the name of the fruits that are sculpted? Can you find the history that is behind this fountain? Some villagers may help you.

The Communal Amphitheater of Pissouri is a new amphitheater with old design (coming from ancient theaters); find it and find the place where you can talk and be heard from everywhere.

Take a photo of this place with your group in it.

There is a vast point of view in the village. Where is it? Can you find it? Next to this point of view there is one of the best cafeterias in the whole area of Limassol County. What is the name of the cafeteria? Hint: it's a type of photography 😉

Go there and take a photo of the view from this point or with the people who work there.

📷 Task 4

We are hosting in a lovely hotel (Hylatio Tourist Village) but there is another hotel which is at the top of the hill. What's the name of that hotel? Can you visit it to see the view from there? Can we have a photo of the hotel named TASK 4? What else is next to the hotel? Can you use your creativity for the photo in Task 4?

Pissouri is growing and there are a lot of restaurants. In Pissouri square there is a restaurant named VRAKAS. What does that mean? How is this restaurant relying on the history and traditions of Cyprus? Bonus points if you get a picture with the name of the restaurant in the background or the owner!

Pissouri, in the last 40 years, started becoming a touristic place. There is an Inn and restaurant which it was the first opened from the beginning of the touristic period in Pissouri.
