🇨🇾 Mid-Term Activities Report – Cyprus (ACPELIA)

Project: SUCOMINNO – Sustainable Communities and Eco-Innovation
Timeframe: January – April 2025
Related to: Follow-up of PDA1 (Poland) | Preparation for PDA2

Between January and April 2025, ACPELIA, and Polychoros Voroklinis the Cypriot partners of the SUCOMINNO project, implemented a series of meaningful follow-up and dissemination activities aimed at sustaining engagement after the first PDA held in Poland. These actions targeted both local and international audiences, ensuring that the project's values of sustainability and community eco-innovation remained visible and relevant in the months leading up to PDA2.

The first activity took place during ACPELIA's annual community gathering at the end of January 2025, where the traditional Vasilopita (New Year's Cake) is shared among staff, members, youth, and local stakeholders. Within this festive yet thoughtful context, ACPELIA integrated a dedicated dissemination moment for SUCOMINNO. The Cypriot team presented highlights from the first PDA, shared stories from their collaboration with other European participants, and introduced eco-entrepreneurial concepts that emerged from the training in Poland. This event successfully bridged European project work with local culture, offering an informal yet powerful platform for raising awareness, engaging new audiences, and sparking discussions around green innovation at the community level. The Vasilopita gathering served as a reminder that sustainability can be rooted in both tradition and future-thinking.

The second activity took place on the 27th of March 2025 during the transnational "Media Mind" PDA held in Pissouri, Cyprus. A special SUCOMINNO dissemination session was organized as part of the wider program, involving 33 participants from a range of countries and professional backgrounds. Three members of the Cypriot SUCOMINNO team delivered a dynamic presentation that highlighted the key learning moments from PDA1 in Poland. They discussed their collaboration with other youth teams, the structure and goals of the project, and the practical eco-innovation ideas that emerged. This event not only offered visibility to SUCOMINNO within another Erasmus+ initiative but also cultivated cross-project dialogue on topics such as sustainability, youth participation, and digital media.

Complementing these two in-person activities, the Cypriot team was also responsible for producing the official SUCOMINNO project video. The video, available on ACPELIA's YouTube channel, provides a visual overview of the entire project—featuring footage from the first PDA, participant interviews, and key messages that promote the project's core themes. This audiovisual material functions as a highly effective dissemination tool, useful for presentations, outreach efforts, and ongoing project promotion both online and offline.

Together, these mid-term activities demonstrate ACPELIA's strong commitment to continuous engagement, local empowerment, and creative dissemination. Their approach successfully combined cultural heritage, international networking, and digital storytelling—amplifying SUCOMINNO's impact and setting the stage for a powerful second phase of the project.
