🇨🇾 Follow-Up Activities in Cyprus for SUCOMINNO Project

As part of the sustainability and dissemination strategy of the SUCOMINNO project (KA153-YOU-2023-3-PL01-000173576), several impactful follow-up activities were organized in Cyprus by partner organizations ACPELIA and Polychoros Voroklinis. These events aimed to spread the project's outcomes, present local green initiatives created by participants, and engage wider audiences, including educators, youth, local authorities, and civil society.

📍 1. Dissemination Event at the Pissouri Multicultural Center (ACPELIA) – January 2025

Held at the Pissouri Multicultural Center at the end of January, this public event gathered local community members, youth workers, and educators to share the results of the two PDAs held under the SUCOMINNO project. Participants from Cyprus presented the green project proposals they developed during PDA1 in Poland and showcased their implementation progress. The event also included interactive sessions on circular economy and green innovation, with tools and methods used during the training. Local stakeholders expressed strong interest in supporting further initiatives, making this event an essential step in local impact building.

🗳️ 2. Annual General Assembly of ACPELIA Members – May 2025

During the annual assembly in May, ACPELIA's members and collaborators dedicated a session to review and present the outcomes of the SUCOMINNO project. Participants shared personal experiences, presented their green initiatives, and reflected on the value of non-formal education in environmental youth work. This formal gathering enabled institutional embedding of SUCOMINNO's outcomes into ACPELIA's long-term strategy, while also involving decision-makers and active volunteers in future sustainability planning.

🧑‍🏫 3. Follow-Up Activity at Gymnasio Leivadion (Polychoros Voroklinis) – Larnaca

Polychoros Voroklinis organized an engaging follow-up workshop at the Leivadia Secondary School in Larnaca, involving students aged 13–15. The session focused on raising awareness about environmental responsibility and green innovation. Using non-formal methods inspired by SUCOMINNO, the team guided students through interactive games, brainstorming sessions, and discussions on how they can apply eco-conscious habits in their daily school life. The event sparked enthusiasm among both students and teachers, and laid the groundwork for future eco-actions in the school.

🏫 4. Follow-Up Activity at G Techniki School – Limassol

A second multiplier activity by Polychoros Voroklinis was held at the Technical School G in Limassol, targeting older students with vocational and technical orientation. The workshop introduced practical concepts from the SUCOMINNO training—such as sustainable design, waste reduction, and green entrepreneurship. Participants were challenged to co-create project ideas that could be developed within their school. The session also encouraged young people to consider how sustainability can be integrated into their future professional paths, especially in technical and innovation sectors.

💡 Overall Impact

These four activities significantly contributed to the visibility, impact, and multiplier effect of the SUCOMINNO project in Cyprus. By engaging both community members and youth in different educational settings, ACPELIA and Polychoros Voroklinis ensured that the core values of green innovation, sustainability, and youth empowerment continue to resonate beyond the formal duration of the training activities.

EVALUATION PARAGRAPHS FROM PARTICIPANTS/FACILITATORS

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Participants in Both PDAs

Michalis Chatzimarkou
Participating in SUCOMINNO was not just a training; it was a transformative journey. Through both PDAs, I developed a deeper understanding of sustainable innovation and non-formal education. What made this project stand out was the space it gave us to move from theory to practice. In Poland, we didn't just talk about green ideas—we built real proposals that are now coming to life in our communities. It's inspiring to see that what started in a workshop is now becoming action. In Cyprus, we presented our progress and saw how different countries are working for a shared green future. I feel empowered, supported, and ready to multiply this impact in my everyday life.

Eirini Koromia
SUCOMINNO has been one of the most meaningful projects I've ever joined. From the very beginning, I felt that we were not just participants—we were changemakers. The combination of dynamic non-formal education, meaningful dialogue, and intercultural teamwork allowed us to develop concrete green project ideas during PDA1, which we are now implementing locally. In PDA2, it was incredibly fulfilling to reflect on that journey and to see how far we've come. Personally, I grew in confidence, facilitation skills, and environmental awareness. I now feel more prepared than ever to support sustainable development through youth work.

Eirini Christofi
Being part of SUCOMINNO gave me the opportunity to deeply engage with green innovation from a youth work perspective. The experience in Poland was intensive and rewarding—we created project proposals that address real environmental challenges. What impressed me most is how much ownership we had over the process. We were not passive learners—we were creators. In the months between the trainings, we saw our ideas grow and take shape. PDA2 in Cyprus was a chance to evaluate, improve, and celebrate what we achieved. I now see sustainability not only as a goal but as a way of working with others.

Stephanie Anastasiou
SUCOMINNO gave me the tools, the inspiration, and the support to connect my passion for sustainability with structured youth work. During the first PDA, I collaborated with other participants to develop a green initiative that is now being piloted in Cyprus. That was a huge motivation boost—we realized that ideas can become actions when the environment supports it. I loved how the project combined fun and creativity with serious outcomes. The second PDA helped us look back, reflect, and fine-tune our plans. This experience shaped my mindset and opened up new opportunities for community engagement.

Andria Themistocleous
When I joined SUCOMINNO, I didn't expect it to have such a strong long-term impact. What started as an educational training became a platform for real project development. Our group's proposal during PDA1 has now evolved into a local youth-led initiative that promotes sustainable living. The methodology used—non-formal, inclusive, and creative—allowed me to feel fully engaged and heard. In PDA2, I appreciated the space given to assess our actions and to exchange feedback across countries. This journey helped me grow not just as a participant, but as a young leader determined to act for a greener world.

🌱 Participants in PDA1 Only (Poland)

Stella Filippou
PDA1 in Poland was an eye-opening experience. I was truly inspired by how the program guided us to think critically, collaborate across cultures, and build something meaningful. Our project idea, born during a workshop in the snowy Polish countryside, is now finding life back in Cyprus. That's powerful. We weren't just learning—we were co-creating. The facilitators supported us every step of the way and believed in our potential. I returned home not only with new knowledge but with a mission to apply it in my community. I'm proud to have been part of the first PDA.

Thekliana Aristidou
SUCOMINNO created a space where ideas turned into action. During PDA1, we developed a green innovation proposal that is now entering the implementation phase. The training gave us the knowledge, tools, and confidence to do this. I felt that I grew as both a learner and a leader. The program pushed us to think about sustainability as something alive—something we need to live and share. Being surrounded by so many passionate people gave me a strong sense of purpose and belonging. It was truly motivating and I carry that energy with me still.

Androula Argyrou Poullidou
The first PDA was an unforgettable and empowering experience. I loved the structure of the program, especially how it moved from exploration to action. Working with other participants to design a sustainable community initiative was both exciting and challenging, and now that idea is taking shape in Cyprus, I feel incredibly proud. I learned how to lead, collaborate, and present our ideas with clarity and impact. Even though I didn't join PDA2, I still feel connected to the project's outcomes. SUCOMINNO planted seeds of action in us—and they're growing.

🌿 Participants in PDA2 Only (Cyprus)

Savvina Nikolaou
Joining SUCOMINNO in the second phase allowed me to witness the results of a long and impactful journey. Even though I wasn't there from the start, I immediately felt part of a motivated community. PDA2 gave us the chance to reflect on actions, analyze progress, and connect across borders. I was impressed by how the initial ideas from PDA1 were transformed into real projects. The whole process motivated me to contribute actively and to bring environmental education into my own local networks. I learned so much from both the content and the people.

Polyxeni Nikolaou
SUCOMINNO PDA2 was full of learning, exchange, and connection. I joined in the second phase, but I could see how deeply the first PDA had planted the roots of real action. We discussed implementation, shared progress, and explored next steps for sustainable impact. I appreciated how inclusive and well-facilitated the program was—it made me feel part of a collective mission. I'm leaving with a toolkit of ideas, methods, and contacts that I'll definitely use in the future.

Anastasia Vardakidou
Although I participated only in PDA2, the experience was rich and inspiring. I joined a team that was already implementing a proposal from PDA1, and I could see the impact it was making. The sessions in Cyprus helped me better understand how green projects can be designed, improved, and multiplied. The facilitators gave space for all of us to contribute and to grow. I now feel ready to take on a bigger role in promoting sustainability and youth engagement in my area.

🧑‍🏫 Facilitators from Cyprus

Nikolas Nikolaou (General Management & Main Trainer)
Coordinating and facilitating SUCOMINNO has been one of the most fulfilling experiences of my career. From the very first moment in Poland, I could see the potential of the participants to turn green ideas into real actions. The design of the program allowed for continuity, accountability, and empowerment—three things often missing in short-term mobility projects. Between the two PDAs, we witnessed not just learning, but transformation. Projects proposed in the first training are now alive in communities. PDA2 was a celebration of that growth. I am proud of the Cypriot team and all partners. Together, we created something that will last far beyond the official timeline.

Gita Vaskelyte (Management Team)
Being part of the management team for SUCOMINNO was an enriching experience. From planning logistics to ensuring the quality of educational activities, it was a true team effort. What impressed me the most was the clear impact: participants developed strong green projects in PDA1 and came back to PDA2 with tangible results. The sense of ownership and motivation was inspiring. Watching people grow, connect, and commit to environmental action reminded me of why we do this work. SUCOMINNO was not only well-organized but deeply meaningful.

Boghos Avetikian (Trainer)
Facilitating in SUCOMINNO was a powerful and energizing experience. From the very start in Poland, I saw how participants were hungry to learn and ready to act. We used non-formal methods to explore eco-innovation, and by the end of PDA1, we had real project ideas forming. To see those same participants come back months later in PDA2 with concrete results and renewed passion—it was incredible. This project combined structure with freedom, theory with action, and people with purpose. I'm honored to have contributed to its success.

Nikolaos Misetzis (Trainer)
Working with such a motivated group in SUCOMINNO made this project unforgettable. Our training sessions focused on practical tools for green innovation, and I was amazed by how quickly participants adapted and applied what they learned. PDA1 laid the foundation; PDA2 showed us the results. The progression from ideas to implementation was clear and inspiring. It's rare to see such continuity and commitment. This project reminded all of us that change is possible when learning becomes action.
